Gefion Thuermer

Dr Gefion Thuermer holds an MSc and PhD in Web Science from the University of Southampton. She is a Research Associate at King’s College London, where she works on the MediaFutures and ACTION projects. In both projects she oversees the development of toolkits, for data innovation between artists and start-ups and citizen science against pollution respectively.

Previously, she worked on the Data Pitch project at the University of Southampton, where she was responsible for producing a toolkit about data sharing, summarising the key lessons learned from enabling cooperation between start-ups and data providers.

Gefion’s research interests are in online participation, process design, HCI and EDI: to enable inclusive engagement wherever people use technology to achieve goals together.
