Michael Rovatsos
Michael Rovatsos is Deputy Vice Principal of Research and Professor of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Edinburgh, where he also heads up the Bayes Centre, the University’s innovation hub for Data Science and AI. He also represents the University at the Alan Turing Institute, the UK’s national institute for Data Science and AI.
In his research, he develops AI algorithms and architectures to support collaboration between humans. Much of his recent work has focused on ethical aspects of AI, primarily through the development of methods for designing fair and diversity-aware AI algorithms that respect the values of human users.
